Kêrygma is a non - profit organization, founded by Jacob & Sheela Isaac, in August 1997. Jacob was working with the UESI (Union of Evangelical Students of India) Karnataka, when they were expecting their second child. However, their baby boy John passed away 48 hours after his birth due to a heart condition.

The time of bereavement was interrupted when another “John”, a young musician came visiting the Isaacs. Through this simple encounter, God spoke to Jacob & Sheela – “John” became the metaphor for several needy young people, for whom God's heart longed.

Since that time, many “Johns” have come, stayed and left – refreshed, nourished & impacted by God's love. Kêrygma thus is the story of how a little baby changed the lives of many!

The future
The journey has been long and fruitful. We have been able to run a coffee house for about 10 years then a business model cafe, several camps every year, concerts, outreaches, cell groups called Coffee talks as well as a centre for youth recovering from addictions. Though we sometimes tire, the work of reaching the un-reached peoples of India must go on. So what does the future have in store.

• The development of the center at Lepakshi, Hindupur, AP where Kêrygma has been given 7 acres of land.

• A counselling and vocational training center for young people.
