Bangalore's metropolitan landscape is cluttered with several premier institutions and colleges. As a result student hostels and small living quarters have mushroomed all over the city. Since these students are away from home, Kêrygma seeks to provide a homey atmosphere, care and a shoulder to lean on. It is also an ideal environment for the students to discuss & get help, whether it is related to academic, peer pressure or social issues.
This is achieved through consistent (planned) visits to the hostels and homes around several locations of Bangalore. The students come together once a week to study the Bible, discuss youth related issues, sing and interact. These sessions have been christened “Coffee Talk”, eventually touching, transforming & empowering the young students to face the vast challenges of their futures.
Many of the students are from various cultural and spiritual backgrounds. With the help of volunteers, Kêrygma is able to maintain the Coffee Talk session in 3 hostels and in 4 localities of Bangalore.
